Linde has launched a new range of electric pallet trucks and pallet stackers under the name Sinergo (Safety Innovation Ergonomics), which it says can achieve up to 6 percent increase in outpuit while consuming 20 percent less eneergy.

FROZEN FOOD SALES INCREASE IN CHINA
Total frozen food sales in China increased to $ 14 billion by 2008, up 140% over 2002. Tonnage reached about 4.615 million, or 3.47 kilograms per capita, up 70%, according to  Research & Markets.
 
UNILEVER MARKETS ICE CREAM IN ROMANIA
Unilever has announced plans to launch an ice cream business in Romania, as part of its growth strategy in South Central Europe.  The Romanian ice cream market is estimated at about $ 220 million.
 
2008 STABLE YEAR FOR MATERIAL HANDLING INDUSTRY
For suppliers of material handling equipment 2008 was a stable year, according to the Top 20 from Modern Materials Handling. Compared to 2007, there is only one new name on the list. Once again, Schaefer Systems International holds the top position.

PALLET OUTSOURCING CAN REDUCE OPERATING COSTS
Outsourcing pallets can reduce operating costs. Instead of buying new or used pallets, the pallets are rented from a pooling company. The cost are shared by a group of users and the pooling company is responsibel for pallet management.
 
BRAZILIAN BEEF EXPORTS SAID TO DOUBLE IN 10 YEARS
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture is forecasting a 93% increase in beef exports during the next ten years, accounting for 61% of the total world beef trade, up from the current 31%. 
 
DUBAI TO BUILD US$ 200 MILLION FOOD CITY
A $200 million Dubai Food City is in the planning stages, according to industry experts. Dubai Food City will be aimed at wholesale food merchants and will be able to hold 400 to 500 companies.
 
CHINA'S LOGISTICS INDUSTRY STILL GROWING
China´s logistics market grew by 15.4% in 2008 to $ 290 billion, according to official figures from the country´s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). A good result, but the growth rate slowed compared to 2007.
 
VIETNAM SHRIMP EXPORTED TO LESS COUNTRIES
Vietnam's shrimp exporters have seen 61 of their export markets disappear since the beginning of this year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP).
